This is a play on the very first image I ever drew of my AIM Group. Linkage: [link]
Kind of a "What really happens" type of thing, the typical phrases for each situation are typed in the same font we use when we chat. As you can tell from comparison, the actions in the second one are quite perpendicular to the first, though placement of everyone and attire is relatively the same.
Really, this is kind of what goes on during a typical chat. STkah! gets plastered. Kako and i get pissed at him for getting drunk. Kago just enjoys herself. Inu finds some way to destroy part of the house. And Cobalt sleeps through most of it.
Tried a few different things in this pic. For the most obvious part, Smileys with shading. Not that it hasn't been done before, but it certainly hasn't been done on this scale.
Secondly, I played around with simple flat designs and pulled at them to make them the 3D walls and objects that you see, unlike just trying to do the perspective by eye, a technique inspired by the Sims.

Sad how 9 months later we STILL haven't had a group chat. The only way we'll ever be able to pull it off again is to plan, 'cause none of us are on aim very often anymore.
